Kelly Ripa
Kelly Ripa was raised as a dancer in southern New Jersey. The future soap opera star joined the cheerleading squad while attending Eastern Regional High School, shouting spirited sayings to the crowds. She also took drama lessons at college. Her teacher, Jim Beckley, told her to continue acting, and she is probably happy to have followed that advice.
Halle Berry
Before becoming the first African-American to receive an Academy Award for best actress, she was just Halle, from Bedford High School in Cleveland, OH. Berry was a role model for students, taking part in cheerleading, courses for honors, and the school newspaper. She even won the Prom Queen, and somehow, she didn’t even peak in high school.
