The 80’s hit show Growing Pains starred Alan Thicke as the patriarch of the Seaver family. One of the children, Carol Seaver, was played by Tracy Gold, who became a teen star for playing the role. Unfortunately, the actress had struggled with anorexia for a long time, since she was 11 years old. At one point, she only weighed 80 pounds. She got suspended from the series for several episodes because of concerns about her appearance and weight loss.

After Growing Pains ended, Gold continued working as an actress, and she starred in a number of television movies over the next decade. Two years after the end of Growing Pains, she got hitched to her husband Roby Marshall. The couple has four children together. Sadly, Gold has struggled with addiction and, in 2004, she got arrested for drunk driving. She has made appearances on TV and in film throughout the last two decades and left Hollywood in 2017.
