Door opens again
Shortly afterwards, the footage showed the door opening again of its own accord. Kenneth and Lyla looked at each other in disbelief. “What on earth?” Lyla breathed. “It couldn’t possibly have been Pablo,” Kenneth said quietly. Stunned, they stared at the screen as the situation became even more puzzling. “We need to see more,” Lyla urged. “There must be something we’ve missed.” Kenneth nodded, his heart racing as he continued to watch the images.

Then they saw Scooter barking softly, trying to get Pablo awake. “Look at that,” Kenneth said in surprise. Lyla watched spellbound as the dog gently nudged the boy with his muzzle. “But why is he doing that?” she asked aloud. Scooter’s persistence had an effect: Pablo moved, slowly opened his sleepy eyes and beamed when he saw his faithful friend. “That’s really strange,” Kenneth mumbled, still looking for a reason for Scooter’s behavior.
