Unexpected exit
The recording flickered to life, grainy but clear enough to reveal the impossible. The man was walking steadily down the corridor, moving as though he had full strength. Not a single person crossed his path. Gracie watched in disbelief as he strode with intention, calm and unhurried. Where was he going, and how had no one seen him leave?

Camera’s edge
The footage followed him only so far. Outside, the man turned right, then vanished from view, the cameras blind beyond that point. Gracie’s pulse quickened as she processed the gap. “Thanks,” she called to the guard, already racing out again. She knew of a place just beyond the camera’s reach where he might have gone. Every passing second was precious.
