Some individuals think that women in the nation are mistreated and treated as second-class citizens. This is a widespread misconception, most likely because women are required to wear veils, but the reality is very different. Following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, it was decreed that all women in Iran must wear a veil at all times. Women took a protest because they were dissatisfied with the choice. Thousands of women went to the streets to protest the legislation on March 8th, which also happens to be International Women’s Day. Nonetheless, the legislation remains in effect to this day. Women in Iran are still pushing for greater rights, and they are doing it by removing their headscarf and dancing in public.
