Valkyrie is, without a doubt, the most unique kitten on this list. Her expression is frighteningly human-like. Take a look, and we’re confident you’ll notice something strange about the (mostly) innocent kitty. Her face is unlike that of a typical cat, with a flat face that stretches across the muzzle. Though Valkyrie’s viral success was met with equal parts terror and respect, little Venus rose to fame for all the right reasons. Venus is a calico cat, even though her breed cannot be purebred because calicos and tortoiseshells are only born female. You might be wondering why this happened. However, the X Chromosome contains a gene for fur color. Females have two x chromosomes, and males have one. One chromosome in female cells may be turned off. This allows multiple colors to be enabled in each X, allowing female fur to have more than one color (a patchwork).
