Unusual Behavior
At the next family gathering, I noticed Jake and Noah hovering near Sarah’s bedroom door. “Hey guys, why don’t you go join the others?” I suggested lightly, steering them away. They shared a quick glance before heading downstairs. Emily nudged me gently, whispering, “Relax, Luke, they’re just curious.” But her reassurance didn’t sit right with me. Why were they always lingering around her room? The thought stuck with me the entire evening.

Hoping for some clarity, I pulled Tyler aside to mention my concerns. “I’ve noticed your boys hanging around Sarah’s room a lot,” I said carefully. He chuckled while stirring his coffee. “They’re just kids, Luke. Always nosing around where they shouldn’t,” he replied casually. I wanted to let it go, but his carefree dismissal did nothing to ease my growing unease. If anything, it made me more certain that something wasn’t right.
