In the late ‘90s, Fiona Apple’s name was well-known in the music scene. As a child, she was classically trained on piano, and she started composing her own songs at the age of eight. Her debut album titled, “Tidal,” was released in 1996, and it contained songs that she wrote when she was only 17 years old. However, the single “Criminal” actually won a Grammy for Best Female Vocal Rock Performance. Her sophomore album, “When the Pawn…”, was also critically acclaimed and commercially successful. It earned her an MTV Music Award and was certified Platinum.
