Amy Jo Johnson
Many young girls in the ’90s looked up to Amy Jo Johnson. She was their hero, which is understandable since she played Kimberly Hart, the pink Ranger on the popular superhero kids show Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. A trained gymnast, Johnson was quite new to acting at the time. However, she had studied at New York’s Lee Strasburg Theatre Institute for one year prior to getting cast in the said show.

After leaving Power Rangers, Johnson had a hard time finding work because of typecasting. She also decided to choose the roles that she would take according to how happy she would be when she played them. How much she’d earn was not a big issue for her. She was never completely comfortable acting, and her goal wasn’t to gain fame. She now works behind the camera as a director, and resides in Toronto with her twelve-year-old daughter from her relationship with her ex-husband, Oliver Giner.
